After a challenging print season followed by a record sales season, we find ourselves SOLD OUT of color guidebooks. So, we’re taking this opportunity to make some lemonade.
As many of you may have heard, early this year our printer accidentally printed and shipped to us the 2021 A.T. Guide in black and white instead of our newly featured full color version. They stepped up and corrected the problem and all was well. Since then we have experienced record sales for 2021 and have sold out WAY ahead of time. After careful consideration of what to do with the “oops” black and white books we have on hand (and the problematic timing logistics involved with ordering more color books for the remaining season), we have decided to offer the black and white books at last year’s black and white price instead of printing more color books. We just feel better about being responsible with the overstock we find ourselves with, and like the idea of limiting potential waste. (:
Other than the lack of color…this guidebook is 100% perfect. Someday it will be a little piece of A.T. Guide history.

Since 2010, The A.T. Guide, a.k.a. “The Awol Guide,” has been the guidebook of choice for hikes of any length on the Appalachian Trail. The book contains thousands of landmarks such as campsites, water sources, summits and gaps. The trail’s elevation profile is included and every landmark is aligned to the profile.
