THRU-HIKE PLANS
These links will show sample day-by-day thru-hiking plans for 3 different hiking speeds. None of the plans include zero days, so the avg. miles/day will actually be less. They all start out slow, with gradually increasing mileage. They include lodging and resupply suggestions.
No one needs to plan to such detail, and if you do, I hope you don't stick to it! Flexibility is as important as any trait one can have on a thru-hike.
Something that these plans have that you'll see nowhere else is the elevation gain and loss for each day. This is a crude estimate of difficulty. |
